Aiyana Glover, a COOL SOROR of DST, joins the show today!  She and Rashan Ali met at Essence Wellness House in Atlanta earlier this year and made an instant connection.  This ambitious 20-something year old is teaching other young women how to navigate life after college.

 

She says, "I want people to understand that postgraduate depression is a real thing that we need to address. Every single person who graduates from college has a life-changing transition and no one is telling us how to prepare for that. So I want people to know that my website is here and a resource for anyone who would like some guidance."

One of the pivotal moments in my path as an entrepreneur was deciding to be vulnerable by sharing my story on Instagram via @BWFwoman.

 

Telling my story required me to come face-to-face with what I considered to be failures. I thought that there might be an opportunity for healing for myself and others through doing this, but I didn’t have any proof.

 

For me, it was a risk, and now I know it was a risk that was worth taking.

 

Sharing about what I could’ve done better, where I messed up and what

 

I’ve learned has grown from simple Instagram posts to a sold-out annual Retreat, a Masterclass that has educated hundreds of women, and a ministry that has guided women on a heart-healing process, from here in the US, all the way to the Philippines.

She is an events professional who specializes in leading event curation, project management, and brand message integration.  She joined KIPP DC Public Schools two years ago to support the education sector by managing staff culture and stewardship events and creating brand champions for KIPP DC.
